One time I was in a casino looking at a game in a blackjack table. There were several other audience standing around the table watching. Suddenly someone from the audience placed some chips on the table in one player's box.

Is that allowed always? What are the rules for this in most casinos?

The bet from the audience is like putting your money on the player. Iv'e seen this several times too. It doesn't always happen.

Some players don't like this for different personal reasons. For example some believe its bad luck.. Others think it is distracting. Maybe others think its rude.

I always wonder why these people can't just play themselves. The game is not too hard to learn. Plus it's a far better experience to play yourself than tag along on someone elses game. Don't be a leecher.

I think this is unethical and goes against blackjack ettiquette. If you want to gamble, why not try your luck instead of just watching others play it?

I think this play is not allowed and you may be asked to leave if management catches you doing this so be wary. :(

As far as i know, this isn't prohibited at all that's why you'll be able to see this several times. I think maybe the reason why they don't just playing along with themselves is because they only have limited chips or they were aware of someone's luck that's why they just ride along with the bet of someone who's winning.
